Description
In case of classical light, many photons will be bunched together. If we isolate each photon then we can exploit its quantum properties to make quantum technologies like quantum
computing, quantum communication, quantum metrology/sensing etc. For extracting the quantum information encoded in single photons, we need to detect/measure the same. For this purpose we are building a single photon detector using an array of silicon photo diodes which works on the principle of avalanche effect, as shown in the schematic diagram below.
